The pristine beaches in the area are strikingly beautiful and both their width and length are truly impressive. The beaches, which are one of the magnets for incoming holiday makers are clean and generally considered safe, also thanks to the presence of lifeguards at some of the beaches (during summer months). The beaches (especially La Fontanilla) are dotted with numerous chiringuitos (beach bars selling cold drinks and tapas) and restaurants serving freshly caught dorada (sea bream) right to your plate.
Playa De Castilnovo, which is virtually on your apartment’s doorstep is a wild beach located southwards from the town beach Playa de los Bateles. This 2 kilometers wide stretch of sand is a paradise for those loving solitude as the beach never gets crowded.
Playa de los Bateles with its fine golden sand is also only steps away from the old town. The beach was awarded with the ‘blue flag’ status and hence it meets, among other things the strictest criteria relating to safety and services availability. The location and amenities available make this beach a good hangout for families with children.
North of Los Bateles is ‘La Fontanilla‘ which seamlessly extends to the beach ‘Fuente del Gallo‘. Further north are numerous secluded coves (Calas de Poniente, Calas del Aceite, Calas de Quinto y Camacho) lying in between impressive cliffs, which guarantee privacy and tranquility. Many of these coves are popular among naturists.
The neighboring towns and settlements, such as Roche, El Palmar, Los Canos de Meca and Zahara de los Atunes also boast wonderful beaches.
